Back on October 18th 2016, I was in the middle of a conversation with friends, Alvin Keels, Jeri Horne, and Tracy Mal, while Karen & I were attending the Paul Taylor & Althea Rene concert at the American Theater in Hampton, VA. Tracy mentioned that I ought to do a painting for the Silent Auction conducted during the Hampton Jazz Legacy Foundation Gala's yearly event; held each November. I stated, "I would think about it."
After Karen & I arrived at the Hampton Gala in November, Tracy led us around to where items for the Silent Auction were on display. I suddenly realized the great importance of this very worthy cause, "To help raise the monies needed to purchase instruments for needy students who live within Hampton Roads." I immediately asked Karen, "How could I not do something for this?"
In fact, it is my intention to do more before this year's event in Hampton, in November.
By the way, "if anyone should happen to want to purchase it before the event, please let me know. (I do have a starting bid)"
